What is knee pain?

Knee is not only the largest joint of our body but also the most complicated one made up of bones, ligaments and cartilages. During healthy state conditions, cartilages act as the cushion and prevent the bones against rubbing each other. Knee joints bear the full body weight and allow us to perform various day to day physical activities against gravity. Tendonitis, autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis, wear and tear due to aging, degenerative conditions or injuries that cause cartilage to break down are some of the conditions that can be easily treated at Polaris Healthcare for knee Pain treatment.

Causes of knee pain

The cause of ankylosing knee pain is unknown, but it is likely that both genes and factors in the environment play a role. The main gene associated with susceptibility to ankylosing knee pain is called HLA-B27. But while most people with ankylosing knee pain have this genetic marker, only a small percentage of people with the gene develop the disease.
